In the spring of 2019, a group of concerned community members put their heads together to address a growing need in Durham, Wake and Orange counties for financial assistance for residents affected by immigration detention and deportation.

While there are programs that address the needs of many essential populations in our communities, some neighbors are left out of the existing support networks.  The Immigrant Solidarity Fund is housed at CWS Durham and is an emergency assistance resource for individuals affected by these situations who do not have access to other community resources.  100% of donations to the Fund are used to support these individuals.

*This fund is temporarily providing support to certain immigrants experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19*

Through 5/21/20, the Fund has issued $83,880 in financial assistance to immigrants in need.

Since the beginning of COVID, the  Fund has issued $58,465 in emergency rent assistance to immigrants in need.

*There is currently a long waiting list of local immigrants who need emergency rent payments, who are not eligible for any form of government COVID assistance.  Please consider donating if you are able.*
