Come run “The Race Home” a 5K to benefit CWS-RDU’s immigration and resettlement program at 8:30 AM on October 19 2013 on Duke’s Al Buehler Trail in Duke Forest. The Al Buehler trail is a hilly limestone trail around the Washington Duke golf course adjacent to Duke University.
The fee for registration is just $32. Day-of registration will be available from 7-8:15 AM for $35 but day of registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Registration fee can be cash or a check made out to “CWS-Durham”. The registration fee covers race registration, a beautiful CWS t-shirt, an entry in our raffle and snacks following the race.
One hundred percent of race registration fees go to support our Family Reunification Program. Sometimes when refugees flee their home countries, they have to leave a spouse or children behind. When they arrive here in The United States, CWS is able to help them apply to bring these family members to join them here in safety. The actual cost for these cases is about $500, but CWS charges refugee clients a $50 fee. Your race registration fee helps us to keep this invaluable program up and running!
Parking: If you have a Duke parking pass (or Alumni Card!) park in the Business School gated lot at the corner of Science/Academy. If not you should plan to park EITHER along 751 OR in the guest parking lot directly across from Fuqua School of Business on Science Drive. The registration area will be in the small gravel parking lot for the Al Buehler Trail between the intersections of Science/Academy and Duke University Drive/Academy. For questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Race STARTS at 8:30 Sharp, so plan to be on site to pick up your number by 8 AM.
