Want to help a parent learn English? Help provide childcare!

Learning English is one of the most important skills that refugees acquire upon arriving in the US. However, young parents often cannot attend English classes because up until now, we have not been able to provide childcare. That’s where you come in!

Now, CWS will be providing ESL classes in the community with co-located childcare, but we need your help in order to make this possible. We are currently looking for volunteers in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Durham, NC to help staff the childcare portion of our ESL program. Our tentative schedule is:

Monday and Wednesday 10 Am- 12 PM at Carrboro UMC in Carrboro

Monday and Wednesday (or Thursday) 12:30-2 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran in Chapel Hill

Monday and Wednesday 7-9 PM in downtown Durham

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00-12:00 at Duke Memorial UMC, Durham.
