Are you eager to work within a fast-paced, dynamic office?
Are you organized, dependable, adaptable and professional?
We are looking for highly motivated, fast-learning, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic AmeriCorps members to join our team. This position demands flexibility, a positive and helpful attitude, and the ability to smoothly transition from one task to another on a moment’s notice. A typical day during your service may range from taking clients to buy equipment for a job, helping a family move into an apartment, assisting a refugee with a job application, interfacing with community members, or teaching an English class. As a member serving within the CWS office you will be expected to positively contribute to the success of this agency, and hold to the values, sensitivity, and respect for refugees expressed by our staff and Church World Service. As an AmeriCorps ACCESS member you will be a part of a larger service body with members serving across the state within various capacities. Attending monthly trainings will give you the opportunity to participate in workshops and equip you with new skills and knowledge pertinent to your position working with diverse populations in the Triangle. This structure gives you the added bonus of being connected with a national service program with the benefit of serving locally within the Durham office.
